Well today I got kind of stuck on the tutorial UNIX chapter 5 when it talks about running background process for example using the "sleep command " and the "bg command" In the other hand I have also learned how to edit and save a file using terminal by typing "shift ; w" it saves the file then to get out of it is " shift ; qw" to save the file I edited and to quit it at the same time.

Don't go any further in the unix tutorial. Instead, make sure to apply what you learned in the first 4 lessons (those are the essential unix skills you need) every day until you know it cold.
ReplyDeleteThe next thing to do is to learn to use the vi (we will be using vim, actually) text editor. That should be your goal for next week.
